Book Fairs: This committee organizes the Bemis Book Fairs. There are 2 during the school. They will be required to work with the media teacher to see what help is needed.
Communications: This committee is responsible for posting on social media, including, but not limited to, Twitter and Facebook.
Community Rewards: This committee is responsible for organizing and managing rewards from outside vendors.
Donations/Acquisition Team: This committee is responsible for acquiring donations from businesses throughout the year for use in any special event or staff appreciation. Committee will maintain a spreadsheet tracking all information regarding donations/acquisitions.
Donuts with Grownups: This committee is responsible to organize and plan the family event – Donuts with Grownups. This event takes place in the morning before school.
Fall Family Photos: This committee is responsible for planning the annual fundraiser, which is offered as a service to the Bemis community. Responsibilities include acquiring a professional photographer (usually a Bemis parent), selecting location and dates, and ensuring the flyer/signup is sent out to families. This event takes place on 2 weekend days in October.
5th Grade Recognition: This committee is chaired by a parent (not a parent of a 5th grade student). Committee at a minimum will plan the annual 5th grade class party with teachers, establish and maintain a budget, secure venue, and vendors, and provide regular budget updates to PTO Executive Board.
Fun Run: The Fun Run is the largest fundraiser organized annually by the PTO! This committee is responsible for planning our annual fundraising event. Responsibilities include event planning, budget setting & management, soliciting corporate sponsors, as well as setup / cleanup of event. Committee chair will be responsible for organizing. volunteers and working directly with communications chair on messaging. Event plan and budget must be reviewed and approved by PTO Board.
Halloween Parade/Trunk or Treat: This committee organizes the school wide Halloween Parade and Trunk or Treat Event. This is an event that takes place during the school day to replace school parties. The committee chair will work with the room parent coordinator to enlist the room parents help during the event and with school staff to determine the parade route.
Landscaping: This committee is responsible for overseeing landscaping work around Bemis.
Room Parent Coordinator: This chair is responsible for organizing room parents across all grades to plan classroom parties and classroom teacher gifts throughout the school year. Chair will identify 1-2 room parents from each grade to attend PTO meetings. Room parents will work directly with parents and staff to collect classroom funds, organize classroom parties and events, as well as attend PTO meetings as a grade representative.
Spirit Wear: Committee is responsible for communicating the ordering process, as well as collection, placement, tracking, and arrangement for distribution. Chair is responsible for identifying merchandise vendors and negotiating pricing for BEMIS branded products.
Staff Appreciation: This committee works throughout the year to organize monthly acts of gratitude to our staff in numerous ways including food, stocking the staff lounge, and Teacher Appreciation Week. The chair and volunteers are responsible for set up and clean-up at any of these planned events. Event plan and budget must be reviewed and approved by PTO Board.
Sweetheart Dance: This committee is responsible to organize and plan the family event – Sweetheart Dance. This event takes place in the evening.
Yearbook: This committee is responsible for taking pictures of students/classes throughout the school year, running the yearbook cover contest, and designing the yearbook. The chair works with the point of contact at the photo company and obtains teacher and principal approvals.
